spring summer 08

Paris fashion week for Spring Summer 08 is about to start!
I'm super excited. Paris is always my favourite....,

For those of you who aren't aware, the shows start with New York, then move to London, Milan (which is happening as we speak), and end with Paris.

The new designs are so exciting! Sometimes, I find that certain seasons are a bit boring. Mostly because after certain trends are started, they last for a season or two....., so the designs don't seem as fresh to me.

But the Spring Summer 2008 stuff is blowing my mind! The designs are edgy, fun, and modern.

I'm particularly impressed with the blocks of different colours i've been seeing for half of a shirt, or one sleeve of a shirt (Marc Jacobs, McQ, Aquascutum). Or the trousers that look wider in the pocket area but are narrow and fitted in the rest of the leg (Ann-Sofie Back, Just Cavalli ). Also, i've noticed that the Napoleanic-inspried army wear, first noticed from Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2007 collections is catching on at Proenza Schouler and Etro.

Oh! And House of Holland's lewd t-shirts with phrases (such as: "Cause me pain Hedi Slimane" or "Do me daily Christopher Bailey") have transformed into simplified, large, shiny, black, single letters for spring/summer.
